Frequently asked questions
A few things you may want to know.
Beginning therapy can come with practical questions. Here are straightforward answers to help you decide on a next step.
How do I get started?
Email to request a brief consultation. We can talk about what you are looking for, scheduling, and whether the practice feels like a good fit. Please do not include personal health information in your first message.
Do you meet in person or online?
Both. In-person sessions are offered in Santa Monica, and online sessions are available to clients located in California.
Who do you work with?
Olivia works with individual adults, couples, and families.
Do you work with couples?
Yes. Much of my work is couples therapy, drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method. We look at the patterns you keep having and find a way back to feeling secure with each other.
Do you offer parenting advice or family sessions?
I work with families, and I offer parenting advice and support around routines, conflict, big transitions, or co-parenting—without turning the session into a lecture.
Is sex therapy something you help with?
Yes. Questions about desire, intimacy, or physical connection in a relationship are welcome here, and we go at whatever pace feels comfortable.
Do you work with people affected by addiction?
I support the person in recovery and the family living alongside it, including the resentment and changing roles that often come with it.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance to begin understanding what brings you in, what you hope might feel different, and how you would like to work together. You can move at your own pace.
How much do sessions cost?
Current public listings note $175 for individual sessions and $250 for couples sessions. Please confirm the current fee during your consultation.
Do you take insurance?
Please ask about payment and any out-of-network documentation during your consultation so you have the most current information.
Is the contact form private?
The form does not store your message. It opens an email draft in your own email application. Email is not appropriate for sensitive health information, so please keep your note general.
What if I need immediate help?
This website and email are not monitored for emergencies. Call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline if you or someone else is in immediate danger or crisis.
Have another general question?
You can send a brief email without sharing personal health information.
